For international students who want to apply for our AI Master’s program and co-work with me, please take a look of this brochure CGU Scholarship Info and its detailed requirement. If you want to get the fully-sponsored-by-CGU scholarship, you had better apply in the 1st application session (Mid-December to Early-February) because there are only a few slots (usually 3) for the fully-sponsored-by-CGU scholarship and all of them will be taken by the 1st-session applicants.
If you apply in the 2nd session (Late-February to Late-April), the only type of scholarship you may get is the fully-sponsored-by-supervisor-and-CGU. However, the chance is low. Unless I happen to get a new multi-year research grant recently and your CV is convincingly good for doing research, I won’t be able to afford your scholarship. Thus, please consider the Taiwan Scholarship Program. If you get the MOE scholarship, you no longer need a CGU scholarship. If you are living in a developing country, you may be qualified for the Taiwan ICDF scholarship.
There is no application form or page for the fully-sponsored-by-CGU scholarship. When you fill in your Master’s program application form, mark the checkbox “I want to apply for the CGU scholarship”, and you will automatically be included in a rank list, which is determined by our department’s director and admission committee for international Master’s applicants. If you are ranked as #1,2, or 3 (depending on the quota), you will be awarded the scholarship.
Regarding the fully-sponsored-by-supervisor-and-CGU scholarship, if you can find a professor in our department who is willing to hire you as an RA for 24 months, you can get this scholarship to waive your tuition and dorm expenses.
For applicants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Somalia, you need to find a professor in our department who is willing to be your guarantor. Otherwise, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan does not allow us to admit you. Please contact the professor you want be advised before you submit your application form and negotiate with the professor if you can get the promise to be guaranteed. Otherwise, even though you are great, you cannot get the admission.
